Faith / Denomination | The three root disciplines of reality and all knowledge are religion, science, and art. These form one seamless reality, except for Death. Thus, no conflict between religion and science is possible. The Laws of God necessarily include the Laws of Nature. “Nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed.” (credit: Francis Bacon). Christianity is an empirical religion, it is either correct, or it is not; depending primarily on whether Jesus was Resurrected or not. (1 Corinthians 15:12-19) No one can love or care about anyone else without having self-respect. God’s One Constitutional Commandment is “Love neighbor as yourself.” This is largely a restatement of “The Golden Rule” (which Jesus also enunciates expressly, at Matthew 7:12). Any teaching or command, when it conflicts with this Constitutional Commandment, is null and void. While not emphasized in Scripture, this commandment very much includes “loving” (respecting) yourself. “By their fruits you shall know them” applies not only to persons, but also to rules and teachings. For example, imagine a world without a rule against stealing. No one could ever own or save anything, and civilization could not exist. |
Relationship Status | Emotionally and sexually single, but have economic house-mate; because housing is very expensive in San Diego. |
Degree of "Outness" | I don’t “wear in on my sleeve”, because many are emotionally or otherwise offended. I look, and act, “normally” masculine. I am “out” to many, but not all, friends. Most family members are deceased. |
